Google has recently released a technical report about its new language model, PaLM 2, which stands for Pre-training with Adaptive Language Modeling. PaLM 2 is a state-of-the-art language model that has better multilingual and reasoning capabilities than previous models.

For example, PaLM 2 achieves the highest score on the TyDi QA dataset, which is a question answering benchmark that covers 11 typologically diverse languages. PaLM 2 also surpasses previous models on the XQuAD dataset, which is a cross-lingual question answering benchmark that covers 11 languages.

PaLM 2 also excels at natural language inference tasks, such as the XNLI dataset, which is a cross-lingual natural language inference benchmark that covers 15 languages. It also performs well on the GLUE benchmark, which is a collection of natural language understanding tasks that covers various aspects of linguistic reasoning.

It can also generate high-quality texts for various purposes, such as summarization and code generation. It can produce concise and informative summaries of long articles or documents in different languages. PaLM 2 can also generate code snippets from natural language descriptions or vice versa.
