TrimTask ("we", "us", or "our") provides a project management platform that helps teams plan, track, and deliver work. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using TrimTask, you agree to the practices described here.

  • Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed credential) you provide when you register.
  • Workspace and project data: projects, tasks, comments, time logs, attachments, and other content you and your team create while using TrimTask.
  • Profile preferences: notification settings, default views, and other configuration you choose to save.
  • Usage data: approximate device information, browser type, and interaction logs used to operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • Billing information: when you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) handles card details — we never store full card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve TrimTask features and functionality.
  • To manage your account, workspace, team memberships, and subscription.
  • To send service-related notifications such as task assignments, comments, due-date reminders, and billing updates (respecting your notification preferences).
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How We Share Your Information

  • Within your workspace: content you add to a project is visible to the team members and invited clients on that project, according to the permissions set by the account holder.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third parties (such as Stripe for payments and cloud infrastructure for hosting and storage) that process data only to deliver the service and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • AI connectors: if you connect an external AI assistant to your TrimTask data, that assistant accesses your data using your own permissions. We do not sell your data.
  • Legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrimTask, our users, or others.

4. Data Retention

  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
  • When you delete your account, we remove your personal data and workspace content within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

5. Data Security

  • We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and row-level security to keep your data protected.
  • Each user only sees the projects and records they are permitted to access.
  • No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable technical and organizational measures.

6. Cookies & Similar Technologies

  • TrimTask uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or sell information derived from cookies to third parties.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access and update your profile information from your account settings at any time.
  • Control notification preferences per category (tasks, comments, reports).
  • Export or delete your workspace data; account holders can remove their account, which deletes associated content.
  • Disconnect any AI connector or third-party integration from your settings at any time.

8. International Transfers

  • TrimTask may process and store data in regions different from your own. By using the service, you consent to such transfers in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

  • TrimTask is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by email and post the updated version here with a revised date.
